Rihanna has been serving us look after major look ever since the Barbadian singer burst onto the scene back in 2005 – from the endless classic Y2K looks of the early years, all the way through to that Swarovski naked dress and the full-yellow Met Gala dress that have already become the stuff of legend. And once she started dating ASAP Rocky, the two almost instantly became the hottest couple of the decade – with the impeccable couple style to boot.

So, when Rihanna and ASAP Rocky announced that they are pregnant with their first child, and then their second, we were naturally expecting to see some absolutely epic maternity outfits – especially judging by the look the couple served to make the announcement.

And she hasn't disappointed. The singer has confidently embraced both baby bumps and given a new meaning to maternity style altogether.

Always ones to play by their own rules, Rihanna and ASAP Rocky let the world know of their big news by setting up a snowy photoshoot in Harlem, in which the singer wore a low-waisted, baggy, ripped jeans and an oversized pink Chanel quilted coat left open to reveal her bump – which she draped with mega, vintage-style jewellery including a gem-encrusted cross.

Here, we take a look at some of Rihanna's best pregnancy outfits – starting with the clever cover-ups which had us fooled us in the first place.

For date night out with A$AP Rocky in NYC, Rihanna stepped out in an all red look. The soon to be mother-of-two echoed her Super Bowl performance look with a red roll neck mini dress over some lightly flared trousers. The 35 year-old paired the Superhero-chic look with a bold red lip and a matching Gucci bag.

Confirming she's the coolest mum ever, Rihanna carried her adorable 11-month-old son out of a Parisian restaurant last night. The pregnant multi-hyphenate opted for a triple denim look for the meal out, pairing a mini skirt with two layered denim jackets, one being bejewelled. Her son (who is yet to be publicly named) didn't let the side down either, combining black boots, denim jeans and an epic Fendi jacket.

Rihanna colour drenched in all white for a Fenty Beauty product launch in Ulta. Debuting the brand's new clear lipgloss the pregnant mogul wore a matching leather jacket and maxi skirt set. She paired the co-ord with a white roll neck top and Amina Muaddi pointed, strappy heels.

Rihanna brought out yet another epic outfit on Oscars night, this time to attend Beyoncé and Jay Z's awards after party at the swanky Chateau Marmont.

In a photo posted to Instagram by Rihanna's long-time friend Melissa Forde, the singer can be seen relaxing after the ceremony in a dramatic hot pink cape and diamanté-covered bra and mini-skirt co-ord, all custom-made for the occasion by Valentino.

And the cherry on top (of her pregnant tummy)? A stunning and very expensive diamond belly chain by fine jewellery brand Bayco. Per Page Six, the piece is estimated to be worth an astounding $1.8 million.

For her second outfit of the evening, Rihanna stepped into a bejewelled, sheer, empire-line mini dress by Maison Margiela over brocade trousers and paired with leather gloves. The pregnant star sung 'Lift Me Up' at the awards show.

For her red carpet appearance the expectant mother wore a sheer and cut-out Alaïa gown.

Rihanna marked Mother's Day in the US by enjoying a date night with her beau ASAP Rocky, and she opted for an elevated maternity look for the occasion.

Her outfit comprised of a silver mesh Miu Miu crop top and belted mini skirt, which she accessorised with a tonal, sparkling Balenciaga mini bag, a choker necklace and strapless Christian Louboutin heels.

Rihanna was glowing, and heavily pregnant, as she attended the Dave Chappelle recording in Hollywood Bowl with partner ASAP Rocky – but that didn't stop the singer from serving us yet another epic bump look.

Rihanna wore a green bralette, denim midi skirt with thigh-high slits and a blue bomber jacket to attend the event, with comedian Michael Blackson hilariously captioning his picture of the star: 'I thought I was going to have to deliver a baby last night.'

The singer stepped out in head-to-toe pink to attend a friend's birthday party, combining a pair of ripped, baggy Vetements jeans with a stylish terry cloth bralette by Bottega Veneta – and it's still in stock online.

Rihanna made quite the entrance to Jay Z's Oscars after party, wearing a black gown by Valentino which featured a long sequinned skirt and sheer mesh top to reveal her ever-growing bump.

As has quickly become her signature pregnancy style, Rihanna rocked an epic bump-bearing silver ensemble for a Fenty Beauty event in Los Angeles. The singer opted for a silver crop top, low-cut silver sparkly skirt and diamond body chain.

Rihanna's pregnancy style has been very much of the belly-bearing, super-sultry kind thus far, but in a recent Instagram post the singer shared a photo of an altogether more winter-appropriate look. In a shearling coat, matching brown thigh-high boots and a hoodie, Rihanna looked super cosy and high-fashion at the same time.

Editor in chief of Interview magazine Mel Ottenberg shared a snap on Instagram of himself and Rihanna posing together – and as always, Riri's outfit was seriously on point. In the snap the singer is seen wearing a bright blue cut-out jumpsuit which perfectly uncovers her growing bump, and accessorised the look with matching sunglasses and an oversized anorak.

The singer debuted what is possibly her most daring pregnancy look today as she attended the Dior show at Paris Fashion Week. For the occasion, Rihanna wore black lingerie with a sheer, lace-trimmed cover-up and black patent boots. An inspiration to us all.

Rihanna has smashed it in the pregnancy style stakes once again, this time in a peach-coloured leather strappy dress, a matching shearling coat, strappy sandals and glorious jewellery including diamond Maria Tash earrings. The singer wore the look alongside ASAP Rocky (who dressed in all-in-black) to attend the Off-White AW22 show in Paris during Fashion Week.

Spotted heading to the Gucci after party during Milan Fashion Week, Rihanna wore a vintage, sheer, sparkly monogrammed Gucci dress which revealed her growing baby bump, and accessorised the look with a beaded bag, diamond cross necklace, strappy sandals and a lavender furry coat. Epic.

Rihanna turned up on the FROW at Gucci's AW22 show in Milan as part of Milan Fashion Week. The fashion and beauty mogul worked a dramatic metallic headdress paired with a black latex crop top, lavender furry coat and black trousers emblazoned with a red dragon. On anyone else, it shouldn't work. But on Rihanna, it's yet another epic maternity ensemble.

Rihanna and ASAP Rocky nailed subtly matching couple style as they attended a Fenty event in Los Angeles. Rihanna wore a hooded, custom red leather dress-coat by Alaia with matching red eyeliner and strappy sandals, while ASAP Rocky opted for a Celine sequin suit with red trainers.

Rihanna continues to ace pregnancy style, and her latest look to attend a Fenty Beauty event was one of her best to date. The singer dressed up her baby bump in a glorious, glimmering ensemble by The Attico made up of green and purple sequin strands.

For dinner at a restaurant in Santa Monica, Rihanna wore low-slung Vetements jeans, strappy Tom Ford sandals, a Jacqui Aiche diamond bra (which costs a casual £26,000), Fendi crop top and a patchwork coat – and topped the look with a classic Noughties camo cap.
